Little Bear is over 3 1/2 years old. His birthday is in October. He is currently on his third round of antibiotics for his heavy breathing. I know that his condition is probably chronic. Little Bear my oldest (3 1/2 years old) has been real sick since last Wednesday. I took him to the vet Thursday evening. The vet prescribed Baytril and the pink antibiotic that I already have. The pups are now 12 days old. Fully furred in their premolt colors. Two orange girls are possibly argente and one gray boy probably sapphire. Sapphire is a beautiful color. It is lighter than lilac but darker than dove. The mom Clarice is a Dove.

The pups are starting to show their fuzz colors. One is clearly grey while the other two are orange. They are dark eyed. The grey will probably be either a grey agouti or a siamese. The orange ones have a few possiblites still. They could be nutmegs, DEH or others. Please let me know what you think. I won't know their sex until they are 7-10 days old.

Knitted Gerbil Stuffies Finally

I finally found a pattern on crafster.org for knitted gerbil toy stuffies. It is a variation on a bunny pattern. The orange/rust colored one is the first with worsted weight yarn and the second one is made from white cotton yarn. Still works in progress. Still need to work in it. What do you think of them?

Henry won 3rd Place

I am so proud of my hamster Henry. On Sunday January 27, 2008, he won third place in our local APL's 2nd annual pet photo contest fundraiser. He has such the cutest face. This is photo that he won with. His prize is a pet photo shoot with a professional photographer.

Happy New Year and Gerbil Family Expanded

My gerbil family has now expanded to seven gerbils and a hamster. I did want to mention that I also had a little baby gerbil Stewie. He was a very small little gerbil. I think he may have been the runt of the litter. He was a beautiful gerbil. A rare color also. i got him on December 14th and he passed on December 18th. Mostly likes from respiratory infection. He never made it back from the vet.

Loss of a Good Friend

With a very sad heart that Honeybear passed on yesterday morning about 9:53am. She was getting worse. We both made that hard decision. She was over 3 1/2 years old. A very long lifespan for a petstore gerbil. She was such a sweet gerbil. She loved her bestfriend Buddy. A 3 year old schimmel male. Her fur actually lightened with age. Her fur used to be darker in her younger days.

Dad in Hospital

Dad has been in the hospital (Cleveland Clinic) since July 24th. He has severe colitis. No medicine helpe. The last resort is surgery. They performed the surgery Tuesday the 31st. His entire colon was removed. he came through the surgery ok. Now the recovery begins. He has good hours and bad hours. Today and last night was bad. He could not keep anything down. His stomach wasn't working right

Sick Little Gerbil Digger

New Friend for Trixie

Passing of a Wonderful Friend

Doctor Who Season 2 Finale

The introduction between Digger and Trixie went partly well. We took off the partition Sunday (10/24/2006) morning. They showed the normal stuff. Digger showing that "SHE" was boss. Lots of squeaking and their was some grooming. They even chewed cardboard together. In the afternoon, Digger decided that she was in heat. Trixie couldn't deal with it and Digger was irritable. New Gerbil

We got a new gerbil buddy for Digger last Wednesday (13th). She is a beautiful grey agouti. 10 months old. We named her Trixie. She is currently being split caged with Digger. Digger is about 9 months old. We got her from a local Breeder. The same one that we got Digger, Speedy and Gimpy from.

Little Dagger

We lost little Dagger 2 days later (9/9/2006). She was fine the night before and Saturday morning she must have has a stroke overnight. She was very listless. Very unaware of her surroundings. We lost our little Speedy September 7th. She was very sick over the Labor Day Holiday. Between Friday and Saturday. We got less than 5 horus sleep. The emergency room took real good care of her. Gave her a Baytril shot and 2 hours of oxygen. We didn't think she would make the night but she did. She actually improved. She was feeling her normal gerbil self on Labor Day and 2 days after. The
